How To Get Healthy Nails
How To Get Healthy Nails
Nails reflect our overall health, which is why proper nail care is so important. Here are some quick tips for keeping your nails strong and healthy:
1- Eat a healthy diet and go for foods rich in calcium and protein as they can help promote healthy and strong nails. Biotin and Vitamin E, both are essential for healthy nails and hair.
2-Drink plenty of water in order to keep your body and nails well hydrated.
3-Keep your nails short and try to file them on a regular basis.
4-Wear gloves when washing dishes or using cleaners. These can be very harsh on your nails and cuticles, causing them to become dry, brittle and discolored.
5-Use hand and nail cream every night, being sure to rub it into and around your nails, to keep nails moisturized and strong.
6-Soak your nails once a week in olive oil or Coconut oil will moisturize and strengthen them ,Simply pour a little bit of oil into a bowl and soak each hand for 10 minutes, and massage the oil into your nail beds and cuticles to get the blood circulating.
7-Don't bite your nails! It's bad for your teeth and your nails. Also, the saliva has nail weakening enzymes. Even if you don't bite, keep your nails out of your mouth.
8-Leave your cuticles alone. The cuticles at the base of your nails protect against fungi and bacteria. Cutting them or pushing them back can lead to an infection that permanently damages the nail bed.
9-Treat your hands and nails to a weekly manicure. It is important to make your nails strong and healthy.
10-Watch your nails for signs of health problems:
-White nails (liver condition)
-Half pink/half white nails ( kidney disease)
-Yellowing and thickening of the nail, slowed growth rate ( lung disease)
-Pale nail beds (anemia)
-Yellow-tinged nails with a slight blush at the base ( diabetes)
